| Conception
An idea is born. It could be to attract more
customers, to sell more products. It could be to reduce costs or
launch a new product. |
| |
| In the case of Somerford
Associates it was the startup of a new company, with a leading edge
set of solutions, targeting at major corporate customers. |
| |
| The site needed to be slick,
professional and above all have a very corporate look and feel. |
| |
| Our first meeting with SA we dentified
a number of things:- |
- they wanted to advertise their product set
to a broad range of corporates
- they had an existing logo (Figure 1)
- they wanted the site to be an introduction
to their product range
- they wanted the site to emphasise the significant
industry expertise they have
|
Planning So
we began planning the structure of the site, working out how we could
provide solutions to each of the above and sketching out the major
sections of the site. (Figure 2). |
| The initial sections would be:- |
- an inviting home page - simple, corporate feel,
but also something enticing
- core sections for major product and service
offerrings
- specific product datasheet downloads
- a company profile that also emphasised the
SA core values
|
Design
Once the structure had been agreed we started
working on the look & feel of the site. We looked to embelish
the style of the logo throughout the site, so we
took their existing logo and identity and produced a number of designs,
presented them to the client and then took the chosen design forward
into the development stage. (Figures 3-5). |
| |
Development
At e-maginative we always try to give our clients
an early view of what the site will actually look like. We generally
build the framework of the site very quickly then add in the detailed
content as the client supplies it, building up the site over time.
|
| |
| Implementation |
| As the development neared completion
we registered the SA domain name, set up the Somerford Associates
e-mail mailboxes they required and then made the site live. |
| |
| The end of the story? |
| Well no! At e-maginative we always
look to continue our partnership with our clients, helping them continue
to get value from their web-site. Be it minor changes, additional
pages, more mailboxes or even re-branding, we are always there to
help. |
